It's a f2p Java game. Some people do have tricked out higher end rigs, a lot of players don't. Think about where the average player is from. Add to that the graphics cards prices are elevated. From what I've read, a significant percentage are getting sucked up by blockchain miners.

It's would not be a source of wax. It's a fish that could be used to make a candle equivalent, so you wouldn't need to use wax for a light source. (Although you can already make a Tallow Candle from Rendered Animal Fat.)

correct, it is not a source of wax but rather just a fatty fish that you impale upon a stick. you cannot make hardened leather or a minehole with it. it's simply a light source.
