Oh wait Q50+ B12's already exist, nvm.

Literally all it did was make it harder for small groups and hermits to get decent metal. It will never be an issue for large groups.

I have about 18 tin veins around me, 2 copper, and 1 heavy earth..

well terrain type was made like that too, by request of genius C&I threads, to the point Forager credo is the new Nomad, so I'm already used to not having a lot of stuff around

In no world have I ever had an issue meeting my basic metal needs (Except 3... But that's different).

I can't swing a pickaxe without finding an ore vein, is this not typical?

To encourage players to trade?

I think that was the idea, but I also think they underestimate how basic metal is to established villages. I know this is hyperbole but It's like saying wood should be regional to encourage trade. No, that means people living without wood are screwed or at least heavily inconvenienced. Unlike wood though, you can't know what you're settling on top of until it's a week in.

No matter what you think, you never want to find heavy earth. My 2 stockpiles = 0 bars once, never again. Heavy earth is a glorified rock.

Budzilla's post is what I'm referring to. I have maybe 15 chalco veins opened, 2 heavy earth. Mined out the 2 tin nodes and 2 iron ochre nodes, both of which totalled maybe 5-10 tiles each and were very far from where I live. This is too regional, waaaaay too regional. Live in a copper/tin only area? No one's going to trade you enough iron to spiral ever. Two people I've heard now their L3 and lower is nothing but galena. The quantity of nodes is fine, the variety is the problem.

This.

As a rule of thumb, everything that makes life easyer and less boring/grinding for players is a great idea. Everything that makes the game harder is crap coming from sadistic tendencies of Jorbtar helped by the few players with the same kind of disorders.

i cant even get metal in my region anymore. i found a single vien of tin, mined about half of it then the local bots strip mined the entire area. since then theyve just been dropping claims and palisades all over the place taking all the caveins that dont have walls that require 50str to chip, and strip mining them. i cant even find shit quality tin because every cavein i can go to is literally full of nothing but 3 types of blue stone that look identical when used as tiles, and flint or some other shitty rock. i get cave-in'd constantly because i cant afford to spend my last few pieces of tin on supports until i actually find a vien. at which point i HAVE to mine the entire thing out immediately or the fucking bots will get to it when i go to sleep.

Oh look another post complaining about bots. Don't get me wrong they are annoying, but they're nowhere near as much of a nuisance as you make them out to be. Suck it up and move if you settled in that shitty of a spot. No bots near me :)

Bunch of cry babies!

In my times in w3 we had only mines in caves that you had to build to mine ore. And you couldn't place them anywhere, no! You had to prospect them. Not many villages had metals in that times. No of mines was limited.

As for curent state - I alone mined with miner alt great amount of caves, and you can find ore, so stop bitching and look. As for my observation, some ore veins are really big, some are small. In my opinion there's to much ore on lvl 1.
