You need to worry about power creep. Everytime you buff something to match an overpowered other thing, you're indirectly nerfing everything else in the game. Now you have to buff everything else, but if you make a mistake and over-buff something, well now everything has a new level to work towards.

It becomes an endless, and frustrating, spiral.

7% hunger is STUPID I could eat 7 kebabs in a row still more effective than this

Question is if sausage is too bad or all other foods are too good. Which one should be baseline is question of how fast overall pace of game should be.

I think the bigger problem here is the extremely dominant role of hunger. A food's FEP/hunger ratio is the primary factor in whether or not a food is good and other factors are almost irrelevant. This again goes back to the stupid 300%/200% bonuses which make eating outside of those bonuses a complete waste of food...

If hunger bonuses were more reasonable and high-hunger foods were not devastating, the sausages would be a lot better than they are now.
