I think that Jorb had it right when 'substances' were qualified. Though I do wish we could barrel eggs, perhaps with a https://www.alloutdoor.com/2017/09/04/six-historical-egg-preservation-techniques/ slaked lime solution

I'm not sure its a good idea. In this case why do we need stockpiles, chests, cupboards etc then? Everyone simply will build barrels.

Skeptical. A lot of work for unclear benefit. I could perhaps be tempted to agree that some produce (vegetables, fish, meat) could perhaps fit in barrels, but, meh.

Pickling maybe? People have been hitting around that bush for a while now.

Regarding stockpiles, I'm not a big fan of the variation of total quantities different stockpiles can hold. A simple quality of life improvement would be to make all stockpiles 250 or something. At the least I wish vegetable stockpiles weren't so small.

My passively cooled GPU from 2014 has no problems rendering the game at 2560x1440 with reasonable framerates.
Please, instead of lobbying to hold the game back, upgrade your rig to something that isn't steam powered.

This is with a brand new 500$ (polar pesos admittedly) card. Water cooled systems are just quieter :P

I just bash it. You can't get peas out of mashed potatoes; the damage has been done.
