I don't really see how food-type satiations have any relation to real-life. If I've eaten too much, then I'm full. I can't eat anything else. Doesn't matter what food group it belongs to. If Haven is really trying to model reality, let's have calories! You eat 3 meat pies, 4 sausages, 2 fish, 5 honeybuns and an autumn steak. You exceed your daily calorie intake by a massive amount, making you fat and slow until you burn off those calories!

Going one step further, you could even integrate a dietary system where you're rewarded for eating a balanced diet and maintaining healthy levels of all vitamins and nutrients. Similarly, being punished for eating too much of one particular type of food, resulting in deficiencies and diseases such as scurvy or rickets. But maybe this is where mimicking real-life in a video game goes too far and starts to hurt gameplay for the sake of continuity...

Satiations are in a terrible spot right now. Foods have a high chance to satiate, and then the reduction itself is even higher. You eat a few pieces of food and suddenly your satiation for that category has gone to shit. Others will say that there are other food categories, sure, but what do you do once your satiations for those have gone down and now your hunger has gone to shit, too? Drink some beverages? The gain is too negligible when your satiations can go back to where they were before, if not in an even badder spot.

Everything wouldn't be so bad if you could still reset satiations, but you can't. Drinks don't even reset either. Satiation percentages need to be turned down, as right now they are too high.

The Satiation system does seem to be in a bad way, you roll a dice each time you eat which means you basically are at the will of what RNG. This matched with a system that pretty much requires you to quest endlessly to sustain 300% just creates a bad overall gameplay IMO.

I suppose its all down to your play style but I can't see those who are able to grind 16hours a day enjoy questing and those that can only manage some hours a night enjoy trying to catch up.

It also brings into the light the quest system which should also be looked at.

Agree, with OP, satiations must be 100% chance, but with less value.
At current game point there is no sense of random satiation gain.

Random satiation gain for me varies up what I'm mowing. Instead of 10 pies, 10 sausages, 10 fish, every 5 hours. This I kind of have to pay attention on what food combos I'm eating and think a bit before eating the next piece and I enjoy it.

Problem is I'm basically a hermit who hasn't played lategame so my opinion doesn't count. My question is do we want a brainless food system? If that's what all the late gamers would prefer then maybe that's ok.

Most people playing up to now with 125% satatiations reset with hunger that treated the game as shovel incredible amounts of food into your face online every day for 2 years are of course at a loss at what exactly are they supposed to do now. You eat a few foods perhaps not more than the amount of curios you can study at the same time and then what? Sure early game there's building exploring getting credos but it comes a point when it's either shovel stuff into your face online or something to replace it. What would that be I have no idea and probably nobody does.

I guess questing, but when you take a bunch of people who are used to one grind and substitute it with another they don't like... well it's an issue. I like grind that requires a bit of thought going into it, but this isn't just thought it's a heavy timegate. Almost wondering what rolling random static satiations would be like each day to vary it up without being a hard limit would be like. I'm sure it's terrible, and honestly I think it's more fixing a problem the playerbase mostly would prefer just not be fixed. I seems most players would be content with the food system if hunger and satiation were completely removed and just let things go with botfest food grind. To my understanding this was how last world worked with haven and drinks in the long run. Which seems unsatisfying to me, but if that's what most people want should I be arguing against it?

I'm coming to a personal crisis. I know I haven't earned my stripes as a longterm world player. Up until now most C&I has been early world relevant, this is not. I feel there needs to be some pushback against early world idea influx, but I myself probably have some. I guess I should just tap out of these conversations entirely as much as it galls me. I want to help but I don't think I really can.
