Rope in belt is probably the most obnoxious example

Imagine trying to remove crafting with water from a waterskin. Get outta here.

I still remember someone posting that they spent multiple days to build top-of-the-line Potter's Wheel and then it got ruined because someone building it had shit rope in their belt.

Imagine trying to craft from a waterskin when you can just use a barrel or bucket.

edit; There's no need to craft from anything equipped as far as I'm concerned. The only exception is equipped buckets. If you wan to craft with it, it can go in another container or the pack. (I say the same about leeches I have attached, too, getting pulled as fishing bait.)

How about just making it so ropes don't get used? Let us use waterskins! My inventory is usually already full of other materials, belts save lives!

You will want rope, others will want water from belts and so on, so on. JUST. PAY. ATTENTION.

Then request a protected mode for carried items you can click on and off to protect them.

This.
It should not be too hard to implement a "lock/unlock slot" mechanic.

H&H is quite frustrating in many ways, why would you be against improving things? Sure you can pay attention to everything all the time get tired in a month and quit until the next world reset. This is pretty much how i play h&h. I love the game but hell it's exhausting to play. QoL features it what game really needs not some new types of fish or cosmetic changes.

I'm conflicted about this one.
As things are right now, I say +1. But if we could carry full buckets in the belt, then crafting from it would be so useful.
