The only complaint I have about slimes is that they shouldn't spawn en-masse but a big one that, through combat, will split several times.

I personally like some fantasy in the game. Gives the whole experience a lot of flavor.

i love slimes in games. but they feel out of place in Haven. for measuring any Haven idea i tend to consider: "would a viking do that?". i can see a viking go into a cave and battle some oversized underground creature. i don't see one surrounded by green blobs. :mrgreen: :mrgreen: :evil: :mrgreen: :mrgreen: Haven feels too sophisticated for slimes. should be more Beowulf and less How to train your dragon.

Not that it really matters but maple trees do grow in germany and southern scandinavia.

Well, I look at the setting as sort of realistic (ish) world with some bullshit added by herthlings as how they would tell others of their deeds (which is pretty much what all the myths are). Hearthlings are plain stupid (just look at that face) and don't have wide imagination. So when it comes to inventing their own heroic deeds and monsters it's not dragons but just bigger version of everyday encounters (ants, beavers, bats dungeons make much more sense then). And from such angle alive slime living in a cave is sort of ok...

i know, i hate all the dumb hats. they're adding things out of theme because they're running out of ideas, it feels like. it's like they're stuck in this cycle of having to deliver new things constantly that the core theme is deteriorating. of course some silly stuff and poetic license for more depth (like silk and drugs) is fine but it's building up. if you showed that picture to someone who's never heard of Haven they would go "wtf is it about".
