This idea is stupid, not only it wouldn't have any real impact other than trying to grief or abuse, it would hurt aesthethic players.

and we would come back to stupid wastelands around villages just in case.

That's not a palisade. that's a picket fence. You could learn to put your foot through it with a little practice. The average privacy fence picket in my area is from around 1/2" to 1" thick (or about 12-24mm).

A palisade is already tree trunks stripped of limbs and jammed into the ground so they don't fall or are easily pushed over. Plus, they're reinforced using multiple methods. I don't think a tree falling on one is going to do much damage. More likely the tree will hit it and roll over to finish playing dead at the foot of the palisade. That we use blocks of wood made from trunks is a simplicity factor to be nice to players. I don't think you want to fell a hundred times more trees to build a newbie palisade... i'd hate to think of the wood required to palisade a good-sized village.

If you said "hearthling" or "house" or "coop" or some other structure that isn't build to withstand siege equipment, I could agree with your idea of falling a tree in the wrong direction, I might be inclined to agree with you.
Opinions expressed in this statement are the authors alone and in no way reflect on the game development values of the actual developers.
