i feel like this is one of those conveniences you want until its being done to you, and then you dont want it anymore lol.


still think there needs to be a way to make the sieges less time consuming, and satisfying, i just am unsure how. dont think this is it either, atleast with the current mechanics.

Yeah... when you put it like that, it does sound like a pretty bad idea. Guarding a ram for 24 hours sucks, but it would suck more to lose all you've worked for just because you have to go to work.

everyone wants a functional siege system that is fun for both sides but its just not possible with how the game is rn.

it seems that there really is no "good" way to implement a siege mechanic that takes into account both attacking and defending parties in a non turn based game other than these long dry times for the equipment. The best I can think of is while drying the equipment cannot be destroyed, only inspected to give an accurate time of when ready, so that "Perhaps" both parties can be online at the same time to engage. Different time zones, work/school/sleep schedules inhibit such battles. Some MMO's I have played had scheduled realm/faction battles that worked. but then again those MMO's were not permadeath or raid till razed games. More along the lines of bragging rights or winners get "such`n` such" reward.

lose too much and nobody will play lose too little and nobody will siege. main problem is quality grinding come back would be impossible if someone were to destroy your industry completely.

Hell no. I'm a raider so this would help me a lot, but no village should have to deal with a complete loss in less than 24 hrs.
