What about this:

They start a new world. Jorb joins HH, Loftar joins AD. That way they would get a good sense of how things work in big groups.

Yes I think we don't have such players who can be not a noob for J&L.
Give a man a game engine and he delivers a game. Teach a man how to make a game engine and he never delivers anything.

They could just grab a couple of long time players who have shown dedication to this game and form a small committee. This committee would read C&I and sum them up to jorb and loftar. This would free some time for jorb and loftar. The committee could speak to jorb and loftar for like an hour or two every 2 weeks about the game and things that are and aren’t working. Everyone on the committee would need to be mature but it would need diversity faction wise. Obviously spruce caps wouldn’t be allowed on it since jorb doesn’t care about their opinions (and honestly shouldn’t).

Making changes to a game based on players who haven’t learned how to play it seems silly. Their only opinion that matters is what they think is too hard to learn or understand.

Many a game has died from developers falling off horses. It is not unreasonable to tread with caution when approaching things this way. I doubt they lack the foresight to discern suggestions born in ignorance from others, but judging by some of the posts on C&I as of late this doubt can certainly be called into question.

Imo an opinion is only worth something when the holder of the opinion has a good understanding of the topic their opinion related to. I define “spruce caps” as players who do not fully understand the game and how it is MOST efficiently played. Thus, spruce caps opinions should not dictate how the game is changed.

Now, on the other hand spruce caps will save this game. Long term players who’ve been playing for a years are probably not going to quit as easily as a spruce cap. The developers first goal for this game should be to keep the he population of the server up and as high as possible. They recently have shown that they aren’t too good at that goal. Examples supporting this statement: how they handled recent bug exploit, calling people spruce caps, admitting they don’t read C&I threads, shit posting, and lack of communication with the majority of their player base.

My experience is slightly different because I actually speak to the developers over things other than forums. I feel like they communicate with me and respect my input, they respond with their opinions and sometimes I can see their perspective, even when I don’t I still respect it because it’s ultimately their game. However the way they behave on the forums I still witness and get slightly discouraged. Their public response skills aren’t top notch.

They could fix this by simple gathering a group of players who actually play the game and show dedication and have that group as their connection between the masses and their selves. They lack time for properly handling public relations and should fix it by getting more people to do it for them.
