Is there a good reason for satiations and hunger at all?

Thoughts on the further development of Haven & Hearth? Feel free to opine!

Guys don't mention Salem's gluttony system. Its last iteration got so much shit and probably resulted in Haven becoming Jorbtar's favourite baby again. I personally also liked that one more, but sadly most people just didn't understand how to use it early on and felt it was too harsh in terms of timegating their progress. I mainly liked that the ability to follow even a slightly well thought out pattern meant you used your timers more efficiently. As it stands you just get unlucky with 2 rolls, can't attempt to utilize restores to your advantage beyond a certain limit.

Salem's system essentially gave you a cooldown that, combined with how many FEPs you gained, essentially said "You were this amount of clever with your meal"

On the other hand Hafen right now is dependant on what food you have access to, and how lucky you are. Can you also destroy your kidneys with industrial amounts of liquids, that will even then become less effective no matter what you do.

I'd rather my range of gains go from reasonable to clever than what it is now, from lucky and well supplied to unlucky and rub sticks for a day.

on legacy there were bots digging soil to reduce energy and binfe eating to raise stats with the old satiation reset ur stats were only limited by ur ability to mass produce food - thats why we need hunger tbh

Going to say the same thing I've said in a half dozen posts now: we don't need hunger. Hunger bots need a penalty without creating incentives for other forms of broken gameplay.
Opinions expressed in this statement are the authors alone and in no way reflect on the game development values of the actual developers.
