At that point, I don't think they fill any purpose any longer, and I'd rather just remove them outright. The whole point of them is pretty much that you don't have them all.

They're tedious at all levels, mind-numbingly impossible at higher ones. There's so many worthless credos; I quit before I got to any of the credos I actually wanted. And the useful ones are so broken you can't be competitive without them. It's pretty ridiculous.

So that's a vote for removing them, then?

It depends, they could be made into tutorials like literally "Forager - Level 1 > Quest 1/5 > Harvest dandelion, Quest 2/5 - Harvest stinging nettle" etc. etc.
Removing sounds like a bad idea, why scrap the whole mechanic if you can make use of it?

I'd say the idea of having credos is a good one, but was implemented improperly. Since credos give rewards, their LP cost could be raised a bit, but make them overall easier to finish.
Remove the RNG, make it literally a MMO quest system, where everyone has the same task to do.

Just remove all the OP rewards, or add them to lower tier credos that everybody can get in a reasonable amount of time. I would rather dab be locked behind a credo, than study speed or something similar.

OP rewards that aren't already attached to easy credos:
+5% study speed.
Hearth Magic cost reduced by 10%
Traverse ridges faster.
Quality bonus on wild animals killed. (+10%)
Reduced stamina drain from running in forests.
Significantly increased risk of mining out trolls.
+1.5% study speed per cave level you descend.
Only relevant to anvil spiralers, so could probably be ignored since it's an insanely rewarding profession that only a tiny minority are involved in
Small quality bonus to all fuel added to Smelters and Finery Forges. (+10%)
Higher chance to increase quality when pounding Wrought Iron.
Small chance to double output when smithing.

Contemplation & Meditation' cost reduced by half.
Ability to create Scholarly Accounts.
I'd say gem hunter being really strong is more related to gems still being a tad OP, as opposed to the credo itself, though
Higher chance of mining out gems.
Higher chance of mining out larger gems.
Can mine out pear cut gems.
Small chance of doubling a gem mined out.

I think credos like nomad/lumberjack are the best balanced. Nomad just gives convenience/makes handling coracles easier, and not having the lumberjack bonus just makes it so you have to plant 30% extra trees. Quality/combat/character growth rate related bonuses I think are almost all bad, but almost everything else is good.

    +5% study speed.
  • anything that gives a bonus to study speed ruins the whole point of why curios were implemented in the first place
Hearth Magic cost reduced by 10%
  • completely busted when combined with (Contemplation & Meditation' cost reduced by half)
    Traverse ridges faster.
  • anything speed related shouldnt be locked behind a significant play wall
Quality bonus on wild animals killed. (+10%)
  • make it an early game buff in hunter credo it wont be too bad
Reduced stamina drain from running in forests.
  • anything speed related shouldnt be locked behind a significant play wall
Significantly increased risk of mining out trolls.
  • trolls have become so insignificant i know someone that kills them daily and sometimes kills up to 8 in 1 day
+1.5% study speed per cave level you descend.
  • anything that gives a bonus to study speed ruins the whole point of why curios were implemented in the first place

Small quality bonus to all fuel added to Smelters and Finery Forges. (+10%)
Higher chance to increase quality when pounding Wrought Iron.
Small chance to double output when smithing.
  • imo quality has become too inflated and industry just goes up too fast. ( legacy 1year of spiraling q200 w11 6 months q400)

Contemplation & Meditation' cost reduced by half.
  • completely busted idek why its still here
    Ability to create Scholarly Accounts.
  • completely busted should def get a rework

Higher chance of mining out gems.
Higher chance of mining out larger gems.
Can mine out pear cut gems.
Small chance of doubling a gem mined out.
  • gems just need a bit of tweaking nerf it from being a curio and buff the gilding aspect of it

idk if its a good idea to nerf them this world tho would be a pretty big fuck you to people that went through all the trouble getting these credos xd
see homo sexuality trending,. do not do that.
