I think the main reason people were buttblasted is that the change was implemented too late in the world when a lot of people had put effort in the credo specifically so they could grow things like bluebells. Protip: implement credo changes when a new world start or discuss them with the players before implementing them. Otherwise, it might make people feel like their efforts were meaningless.
Also, wrong.
The main reason was that whole profession was reduced to dust, where You can grow only few things that almost nobody cares for as well as unreasonable delete of few other things that should stay just because people cried (and will always do, despite whatever action will take place). As well as calling those minor changes is very wrong, because clearly, minor changes wouldn't bring so much people to complain in the first place.
I gave pretty much good explanation as to why changes were bad and why should be reverted and that, deleting stuff brought completely opposite effect of what was wanted to be achieved.
I was not butthurt that I did gardner and now cry because profession was almost ruined. I just simply couldn't stand such bad development patch and wanted to give feedback how and why, while also trying to get answers why in the first place. So remember, not everybody are butthurt, but some people just don't wanna watch how it goes down that easly.
As for idea, no. It's really unnecessary and I could see it as decoration but normally no, despite it would allow to live completely in underground maybe?
