Take rageless character to pvp fight, it's unkillable unless it's already heavily wounded.

Can a non-rage character initiate PvP combat? Or is just a matter of them being in the area and being targeted?

Non rage can't initiate combat. But the usual suspects want to kill everything that moves, hence they're against anything that stands between them and their 'fun'. It's basically irrelevant to them if their actions kill the whole game.

I mean, you can take combat characters into a combat zone and have them wait to be targeted. It's not like you have a way to tell which character knows rage and which one doesn't.

I freely admit the one of the aspects that lead to suggesting the non rage protection was to fuck with the aggro scripts of combat oriented players, simply because there should be consequences when starting to fight with everyone in sight.
My intention was to revert combat initiation back to be a decision that isn't taken lightly (so it'll no longer be automated).

So, would a way to tell rage vs non-rage, whether visual or through targeting mechanic, be more to the liking or rather just the ability to kill any and everyone?

youd have to be some next level retard to die in dungeons since you can push people blocking out of tbe way.
Youre literally unkillAble in the outside world you could stand still at 100% hp and let them bash at you and be at 0 risk. Meanwhile titans with no rage are running around tricking people to aggro them so they can get a free kill for 0 risk.

at least with w10 system it was pretty hard killing low stat char.
see homo sexuality trending,. do not do that.

Auto aggro scripts aren't really relevant, and afaik haven't been for a long time.
If the only goal was to reduce scripting in combat, the potential client advantage from the current iteration of rage is way higher considering the need to communicate who has rage, which is genuinely difficult and can be completely automated.

Also, I don't know if Jorbo takes your suggestions seriously (or even remember who first suggested the current iteration of rage), but I feel like it shows a lot of bad faith either way that you would actively want the game to be changed in a very meaningful ways out of spite over something so irrelevant.
