Claims need to die faster, normal decay hasn't been an issue for me.

So your issue is that you encounter visibly forsaken encampments - where nevertheless the claims still havn't run out of authority?

I think it's a valid assessment. 3-4 weeks is more than enough time on personal claims, villages could be kicked down to two.

Villages (as pclaims) already scale durability inverse to size, place some banners and a village claim runs out quite quickly. Speeding up the de-authority even more would make villages less useful for single-human groups - who effectively need to keep one alive one for sane alt management (which in itself is needed because you can only pick two from permadeath, long character development and open pvp when the goal is to have a fun game for the many).

Sounds like that this would take the game into the complete opposit direction of what would be healthy for it, by making taking a break even harder than it already is.

Depends on the objects added, but they typically add as much authority cap so as to give the same amount of time between 100% and 0, not shorten it. (I haven't worked out the math recently, so there may be some diminishing returns here with large numbers of objects.) I'll note that when local resources are present, it does significantly decrease the time to live, though they aren't as impactful when villages get expanded as it's usually a single object vs a lot more items that expand the pool and push it back towards the standard "three weeks."

As far as personal claims go, the max presence is always divided by the time to live (60 days currently if I recall right) for the daily drain.

Seems fine as is. Last world pre tile decay you'd find paved ex-villages/claims everywhere, and even once it was implemented it was still bad. Having that same decay this world seems to have worked wonders at cleaning the world up as it aged.

I don't see any reason given in the topic why decay or claim decay has to be faster? I personally like finding ruins and would like them to hang around.

Actually there is nothing wrong with ruins - containers, houses, and whatnot decays pretty fast, even faster than walls and claim itself. But again - the problem is territory reclaiming by nature, it doesnt work properly.

decay works as intended, stop crying that somebody is holding a claim if its active for some reason and put a wrecking ball. you will get 2 answers at once if it disappears.
