The global pool system does not encourage or discourage botting.
This is retarded, global pool system absolutely encourages botting. In fact, it punishes people that don't bot.
The bottom line is removing the global pool system would benefit all the normal players. Botters will always have more of the hard to get stuff because there's no work that goes into getting anything for them, when in comparison, people actively searching for them have to hope they get lucky against the dozens of bots that are each boiling and gathering thousands of mussels per day.
In the end, removing the pool would let players who actually put forth time and effort into getting pearls or glimmer because they at least them have the same base chance of finding them instead of competing with dozens of bots at the same time.
The solution to the problem is also silly. Do you really think increasing perception/Exploration cost of these things would make a difference to a botter? It doesn't. You can set any arbitrary number, whether it's 20*20 or 500*500, either way someone that is botting not only will have a problem getting to that benchmark, but will 100% beat you to it.
