I honestly thought this thread title meant that butchers surprise was really good. Took me a while to realize you were implying that McDonalds is somehow bad. 0/10 analogy make no sense.

If you're making your sausages q10, you're doing it wrong, and Butcher's Surprise makes it even easier to reach at least q40 for double the FEPs. It still has a bad FEPs/hunger ratio, but for a lot of meat you won't find a much better use other than kebab.

Everything gets a lot better as the quality rises; that is a truism. I didn't make the sausage at Q10 but reducing everything to Q10 makes it easier to compare them. I could grow higher quality wood strawberries and they would be better than the equivalent quality Butcher's Surprise. Just because a meat dosen't have a better use doesn't mean you have to use it at all. I can think of three things better than eating bad food: swill, mulch and drop it. Q40 Butcher's Surprise doesn't make it better to eat, it just makes it worse for you twice as fast.

Actually the analogy was that, like McDonalds, Butcher's Surprise is a processed food with low nutrition. You tried though.

That takes exponentially more effort than tossing some unused meat with a decent quality intestines into a Butcher's Surprise, and will be in low supply even once you manage to get your q40 strawberry tree.

That makes sense if you're in the 100%-300% hunger range and don't want to ruin your FEP bonus. If you're at 50%, though? Just munch away, the hunger will recover in no time anyways.

The point is that you shouldn't be eating high quality wood strawberries or butcher's surprise. Just because they exist doesn't mean you have to eat them. If all you want is energy then just eat shit off trees though I guess in winter you don't really have that option but you've had 40 days to get your landscaping done. So I guess if it's during winter when you can't even get cattail roots and you're on a labor alt and you don't care about wasting your cook's time then Butcher's Surprise would be good.

I think you're like the vegan standing outside of a McDonald's screaming "meat is murder." You're just not going to convince anyone showing up at ol' MickeyD's that you may be right.

So what's the solution for labor intensive work in winter?
