For example if you lift a cupboard with 6 items, you get 7SHP dmg.
If you bash house with 2 looms and 5 cupboards totalling 5*64 items, you will get 328 shp damage.
This way it will always be more sensible to steal items than destroy containers holding them.

To make further difference in destroying a stick fence when compared to a house, there could be a hitpoint-based vandalism damage for destroying stuff too. sqrt(hitpoints)*soak for example. This wouldn't apply to vandalism done with siege machines.

Crime doing damage was introduced because some nerd left so many scents on the same tile that server crashed one time.
I don't think Jorb's vision includes people not being able to wheelbarrows more than 5 stockpiles of clay off of a claim because it makes them bleed too much, so they need to take a 3 hour nap in the middle of a raid while their friends stand guard making sure nobody kills them in their sleep.

During raids, even verse people we don't dislike & aren't scorched earthing, it has become common courtesy to bash every cupboard you look in if it doesn't have anything worth stealing inside. You spending 1SHP on rummaging, 1SHP on vandal is way better than everybody rummaging through the same cupboard multiple times.

I realize Shubla is intentionally derailing because Shubla, and he knows he'll get away with it, but it's really funny that somebody would actually agree with that lol

It's kinda sad that I'm responding to this seriously, but if those were the mechanics every siege/raid would target Vclaims/Pclaims. Instead of destroying cupboards, and moving containers out of claim to avoid SHP damage, the goal would be to entirely remove the claim to avoid damage. If I'm removing somebody's claim from their village, even if I have no reason to dislike them there's a 100% chance I'm putting my own claim over it, which I think it the worst case scenario for any victim
