Through an option in the hearth fire called "Travel to friends", it will destroy their old hearth fire and place a new one at the beacon location. I can't think of a way it can be abused if it's sending purely naked character. It's dumb, but new players get attached to names and want to play immediately, they don't want to be told "wait 30 minutes" for someone to make a beacon. More true for groups of new players who aren't aware of how to push for it. Allowing them to spawn and run around without needing to wait for the wilderness beacon spawner would be a nice touch to make the fresh spawning of a group of friends a smoother experience.
+1, probably increase the max age to 24 hours or even 48. If newbs are spawning in day 1 and they don't know how wilderness beacons work, they could miss the 5 hour window. Don't see a way to abuse this either, since if a village wants to send fresh alts somewhere for nefarious purposes they'll probably just ferry them over by boat/fast travel.
I think wilderness beacons should last longer too. 1 hour is a bit short of a window for the case of "hey, the beacon is lit now, join whenever you're ready" but the new guy is busy/offline. Especially for people who are in vastly different timezones.
Edit: To guarantee that it doesn't get abused, you could do as Ysh said and instead of limiting age, limit the stat/LP that characters can have before using beacon. Say:
- 150 total attributes (which is ~17 in every stat OR 70 str and 10s everywhere else, newbs unlikely to get more than 20 stat gains in a day)
- 30k total LP gained (newbs should take a day or two to surpass this, just barely enough for rage but nothing else so they'll get slapped in any PvP combat and have no stealth at all to hide crime - keep in mind their heath fire will be at the wilderness beacon)
