Holy shit my proofreading was bad on that earlier comment. fixed.

How many people did they have looking for whales? Did they have a node close? Because I sure as hell don't have the time to take out 1-3 a day, let alone find that many. Agree with you on the ql, fuck q200 trolls.

MagicManICT wrote:"Rare" foraged items--pearls, glimmermoss, eidelwiess, and others--do have a global pool similar to the resource nodes. When they refresh is a closely guarded secret among those that know, and those that can hit the sweet spots tend to snag what is spawned fast enough that those missing the time will get nothing. A bit of a different topic, and has had its discussion, but thought it deserved an answer as to what it was since it came up in the conversation.

I don't fully understand global pools but I can say it was really easy finding every rare forageable late world, but you had to leave the main continent. In theory, this benefits hermits who leave the main continent to be alone. Still, it feels like every mountain had a half-dozen charterstones for that Edelwiess,

Game periodically releases X into the pool based on player activity in clumps. More players = more rares, but it depends what people are doing. If lots of players are all hunting glimmers, not a lot to go around. You don't need to know the release pattern exactly, you just run people hunting for them when you first spot one. This has gotten me a fair few more than just randomly pottering around.

Not 100% sure it works that way, but 90% or so.

1-3 people on and off through the day. whales don't have nodes for spawning (quality they do) they just spawn in deep ocean. The issue is the tar, people have no idea how much tar you burn through for whale hunting. We did have a good ocean route with very few other people scouting it.

I think the tar grind might scare some people off, beyond that I'm more on your side. Plan to do more whaling w13

Whales are good, lots of great products. Still think the base ql is a tad low for the investment needed to farm them.

Orcas are almost worthless in comparason
