I like bumblebees too, but they're not something domesticated IRL, so I doubt they would be in game unless it was a part of some broad insect-breeding mechanic that included not only bumblebees, but ants and crickets as well.

Maybe some vivarium object made of glass and filled with soil, water, swill. Could be filled with a queen bumblebee/ant, or breeding pair of crickets/spiders.

I just want to see the whole bee-breeding thing expanded overall, with the quality of the beehive serving to softcap the quality of the bees bred inside it. Not on board with the use of bumblebees, necessarily, but definitely a more involved beekeeping mechanic would be nice.
jorb: I don't want *your* money. You are rude and boring. Go away.
Sevenless: We already know real life has some pretty shitty game mechanics, it's why we're here instead.
Avu: The end is near it has finally come to pass: I agree with Lunarius...
Shubla: There are also other reasons to play this game than to maximize your stat gain.

Make it so you can flay bees for bee fur and make a new gildable "bee coat" made with 2 string and 10,000 bee fur.

Onto serious bzzness though, this but maybe a low chance to catch a queen, stick that in a bee skep, then I dunno bee-reed them for the curio?
Boofing and gumping it all damn day. Shoutout to my homeboy Moloch

Bumblebees in skeps don't really make sense because, unlike honeybees, they nest in the ground and don't create a hive structure.

I'm not an entomologist, so I had to read things up on bumblebees. What I found is that their breeding habits vary by species. Most build a hive-like structure, just not centralized with a large colony like honey bees. Some produce queens quite frequently that fly off from the hive before before breeding. Bumblebees, in the last couple hundred years, have been used for plant pollination. I recall tomatoes being one fruit specifically mentioned.

Maybe merge both? Bee skelp could generate bumblebees from time to time like it does with honey and wax - they're helping pollinate nearby plants, after all.

bumblebees arent bees!

they are an different species, the kinds that live here burrow intoo the ground, and then lay eggs, no wax, no hive, no honey,

i´d be for an way too increase your local(insert insect) q . but i´d rather see wood/leavesstockpiles,mirkwoodlogs and similar to occasionally pop out an bug,
maybe let us make insect homes, like piles or simple constructions out of mirkwod, gardenwastes and some mulch that generate wild insects, quality depending on swill and mulch inserted and quality of the construct.

but those wouldn´t attract bumblebees really, maybe poppy fields could?

also, quality of released or decayed grubs in your insectspawnes, could infleuence stagbeatle, or maybug quality.

btw, jorbtard, whats up with maybugs? proppably the pinaccle of midlleeuropean bugcatching, not included in your game.
