Blacksmith Credo Doubling Too Weak

something as simple as doubling steel crucible slots would be very nice

but they could definitely put some real thought in to it, like adding a couple new craftables (even if they are just curios)? something more involved like damascus steel? re-add quality bonus to blacksmithing?

irrlights and speed bonus both need to go in order to simply put balcksmith up to par with the rest of the credos at this point

some proposals:

    1. remove "well mined" bonus from miner credo, and add "coal used counts as 33% more fuel" to blacksmith credo. Or "smelters, crucibles and furnaces work 20% faster". The ones lit by the smith, rather than built. in place of "well mined" add "create twice as much rustroot extract" (as much as I like "well mined" bonus it's annoying when ore gets mixed with ore mined by character without the bonus)
    2. improve "More irrlights when smithing" by adding "and they land in your inventory"
    3. change "Reduced smithing time" to "armor crafted has 25% more durability"
    4. Making bronze creates 4 bars, instead of 3

By the time you get blacksmith, coal stops being the massive limiter it is in the early game. That would gut miner due to village development timings.

The other suggestions seem neat.

Well, I think it'd still be useful when rationing quality coal. For example in my village we had 1 coal vein of high quality, but we mined most of it and have only a limited amount of that coal left. We're saving it for when we need tp push quality of some stuff, so such bonus would let us use this coal for more things

armor bit sounds utterly useless but the bronze could be neat instead of the irrlight

i think i'd rather irrlights be replaced by a blacksmith variant and get swole and have a longer runtime

How is everyone arguing for 2 years about how annoyingly MANDATORY credos are, and when they get nerfed, they demand them to be buffed?
Nerf it even more tbh, no more double output, extra chance to get the smithing experience event or whatever.

damn girl are you lunarius haberdash because that's the most backwards ass take i've ever read

needing a credo in order to have world-viable industry is cringe, but making a credo that requires a dickload of other out-of-the-way development to get suck fat balls is pretty cringe too

also if you wanna make a shublapost you should've complained about the smelters becoming 6x6 not the dupe :ugeek:

The problem with credos was you had to rush them for industry. With the majority of them just being quality of life or slight quantity increases, there's a decision of "is this increase of output worth the time doing the credo, will I be doing this activity enough to warrant it" which I think is good. Blacksmith could probably get an extra bar of bronze and it'd be pretty fine, it's a pretty meh credo for how difficult it is. There's some other credos that should be nerfed though.

You're the one demanding the dupe be buffed. I find both the dupe and the smelters good enough.
Complain about the 6x6 not being good enough and I'll say remove that one too.

The blacksmith credo is already good enough and I'd rather it not be buffed even further.

I'd rather complain about how it's focused on RNG, you dupe some shit gilding while your enemy pops out 2x q400 b12's out of a proc cause haha fuck you, RNG good.
