Capping animals seems fair for me, it really makes progression stepper.
This indeed prevents some interactions between developed and undeveloped players, but not sure that survival cap is exactly the right thing that must be reworked to fix that.

Survival cap is annoying and decreases content for majority. Some powerplayer scrubs getting q100 bcapes 2 days later is not worth paying the price.

I don't like the capping.

I don't think it really does anything significant beyond making my entire village account share and feed better curios to the survivalist character, who gets gimped in PVP because they needed 750+ survival. If we were still doing industry I still couldn't use *my char like 8-9(?) months in to kill topQ animals with like 100-150m total LP.

You guys are acting like there wasn't a softcap at all before. Butchering/bone collecting still softcaps stuff, without the hardcapping on kill. You'd just be able to take your corpses home for a crafter to do it instead of gimping your main.

Don't only think about progress, but also trade.
In legacy bears were common trade good, removing cap from killing is first step on the journey towards reviving trade.

Not sure that fraction boys and how fast they become relevant to max caps is a good argument for this discussion.

By the way, what if hard-capping would be removed, or replaced with softcap, but survival will hardcap skinning/butchering/bone gathering instead?

No guys there’s definitely an intended gameplay mechanic to kill whales, and they’re definitely planning on adding it within the next decade maybe!

Until then let’s add infinite other incomplete, obtuse gameplay systems!
