Yeah I guess the mats arent really all that exotic just seems off that you can build a coronation stone inside an established realm without some kerfuffle. I mean even a notification to the realm owner that there is some fuckery afoot could spark some PVP and would make sense thematically? Or that too larpy? Its not just about the buffs I dont want to talk shit about mechanics without doing some hands on work with them.

Something like Terroir sounds interesting. Could be a way to keep people invested longer than 2 - 3 months. Catch up on that could suck though.

Population felt like it dropped a bit after this recent winter.

I have made my own realm. Now I have to wait 20 + days before any of the fucking thingwalls can be challenged, 6+ for the one that isnt even currently held by ANY REALM. It doesn't matter if most people wouldn't. The reality is when the game only has a few hundred players the entire world is subject to the whims of a few autists. It's why realms as a concept are broken, not just bad in execution. (((although they are bad in execution too)))

from shubla's map I can see the map has (more or less) like 150 or so thingwalls at least, wouldn't even you run out of patience?

but just incase, I think that provinces should be smaller and there should be more of them to prevent this

I think new coronation stone should force some 400x400 claim (on condition they are far enough from another coronation stone) that they can claim instantly regardless of being in province owned by another realm

I mean its true. I would spam them if there was an advantage to doing so and Im just some bored retard. The mats are trivial. Still it seems like building something like that within the borders of an already existing realm should at least be like a call out to the status quo to come in and squelch the rebellion.

We put a monkey in space surely we can come up with some good ideas for realms.

I don't think I have any ideas to contribute, but I'll try to summarize the critique. There's a problem when both of the following are true:

    1. Realms have significant to massive impact on quality and character progression.
    2. Average player has little to no impact on which realm they are covered by. (2.1. It's quite easy to build and maintain a dummy realm with little or no buffs.)

And when there are griefers that can purposely sabotage realms mechanic without being punished by devs. It all boils down to literally couple of people powertripping and being dicks for no reason in an indie mmo about growing turnips.

I just got an idea- what if realm buffs were decentralized? For example each village could pick one or 2 buffs from the list and fuel their village idol with EXP to maintain and develop those bonuses, but as long as this village is in the realm entire realm would have same benefits. This would force realm holders to actually care about their subjects since losing a village either by province being took over or by players from that village just droping the game would mean losing a buff and i don't think anyone is autistic enough to maintain multiple dummy villages just for the sake of buffs.

This probably would lead to new even more horrid abuses and shenanigans but at least it is an idea to consider.
