they don't even spam restorations like bears do, so I think mammoths are easier than bears!

I think that luring mammoth with a horse to a palisade trap is not a difficult challenge, and then you can just hit them through the little hole they can't pass! speaking from experience

Nevertheless, you shouldn't bother hunting them too much if you're not able to find one in that day. If you do, keep looking, chances are there's many more.

sprucecaps can build a mountain trap, get 30 ua and q30 bronze sword and a horse and slay the mammoths to progress in game!

they are also only in very specific areas that take tiny percentage of world area, so a sprucecap is very unikely to be surrounded by mammoths! especially considering there is usually only one within distance in someones sight
