I have had friends from other games play haven for less than 6 hours total and already be good enough at running that I could never KO them 1v1 if all they were trying to do is escape. I'm not the best chaser in the world, but easily top 1%.

No mechanic that doesn't kneecap the entire premise of the game completely will save the nabs if they remain as forever shit as they have been forever. There needs to be some FORCED entry into PVP if you want them to not die for free constantly.

Haven is not juat a PvP game and you know it :P The game is a hybrid and attracts players from multiple genres to enjoy different aspects of the game. Without the crafting/larping component of the playerbase, the game loses a lot of its soul. And the reality of crafters/larpers is that some will always be bad at pvp. A number of those players come from games like Animal crossing/Harvest moon will never be capable of pvping. They have no muscle memory built up for these types of games, nor experience dealing with high pressure pvp.

Either way though: There's no reason why an introduction into pvp must be permadeath. Honestly, I don't think haven actually needs permadeath at all given the wound system. Like you said, for faction players this game hasn't been permadeath for years and everyone still seems to enjoy it just fine.

I've been around since 2011, I know how the game has been and I think it's frankly gotten better. Reduction in permadeath = more people willing to fight = more fighting. True faction combat back in those worlds was rare as hell compared to this.

The idea of auto KO yourself at 50% is an idea, but should be usable only by thoses who haven't unlocked "Rage" skill.

Anyway, bring back death for fighters

It is more common to see a gang of 3-4 armed guys, rushing on one poor hermit, so the 1v1 is more than rare.

Good to notice that many players are here to play a survival/crafting game without any tought about attacking other players, so when that happens they are shocked.
And even if they can reduce their opponings, with better stuff damages will be greater, so easier gank without "Murder" skill.

Another idea :
Heartling without any Criminal skills shouldn't be murderable at all, capping their possible wounds in PvP to 99% of their HHP.

IDK why the hermits always bring up these random excuses. "oh no there's 5 guys so I had no chance", moncia you're gonna fucking die to 1 good player on a naked alt either way. The game should've FORCED you to learn the PVP basic by now, but you're also at fault for putting in literally zero effort then demanding changes to accommodate you. You need to be /so/ fucking bad to die.

They already did something similar to that world 11, and it was dogshit. I really don't think anybody benefits from some characters being immortal.

this is a pvp game and if you aren't staying strapped you fucking die

people can attack you. this is the point of the game. we all start on equal footing. like literally just go play farmville, seriously, the print isn't even fine.

I was poking around the forums a couple days ago and found this: viewtopic.php?f=40&t=44710

From here on out, im just going to paste this into every thread that cries about the pvp/grief aspect of the game. The summery of that post is now my signature.

That's not really a cry post, it's more a post to attract attention about "faction players" or more commonly "veteran" of H&H, willing to PvP, choosing to kill hermits instead of real PvP.
I don't think this behaviour is blameworthy, cause it's much more difficult to find and really attack another veteran player and easy task is always picked in priority even if it's less rewardful.

I think the fact to KO a solo player (litteral shit at PvP and doesn't want to be good at), should be enought for a PvPer to prove he cans do it without destroying the fun of the solo gamer.
Should consider also to bring sort of Arenas (1v1 / 2v2 / 3v3 ...) you can enter with some attractive gains like a ladder for the players and keep busy the PvP addicts.

I think the PvP in the game should be a thing, for the exact reason the devs said, PvE grief is a pain even worse than PvP.
Just to put some line not to cross, we aren't baboons.

Willingly choosing not to learn the fighting, dieing, mrage, and siege mechanics and then proposing drastic changes to content you (or anyone here) doesn't understand is something I'd define as a cry post.
