This would be the same with everygame, and like many others people already point out, why don't you play with just numbers on the screen??

The use of custom clients is very detrimental for the game, something is wrong? Ask to improve it and patiently wait, and play with the same rules of everybody else .... no rules? no game.

Thx to these "efficiency" statements, I see first time players, who doesn't even know how to craft a kuska, using elaborate custom clients and quitting after their first session.

Math and efficiency doesn't make a work of art beauty ... only human minds can create and shape something that is appealing and beneficial for others human beings, this is very true pretty much for everything, our life, politics, arts and games too.

Stop these bullshit technocratic supremacy we are all aiming to in our era, we will pay the price and won't be cheap.

P.S. Other than that, Yes please address the well known " better rapresantation of height " sooner than later, pls.

I would honestly be in favor of haven being unmoddable, forcing all custom clients to go away, but that's not the world we live in :(
Early world exploit: Put your hearthfire inside a cave, then hold shift to position a claim right in front of a cave. After 8 hours the claim will be unbreakable. Since your hearthfire is inside the cave, you can still get back inside, and leave, but nobody will be able to enter, effectively making you unraidable for the first 3-7 days. Enjoy

isnt the core problem that ellevation in haven is only superficial? haven is essenntially an flat game, with some 3d fluff, wouldnt mechanically adding "height" be an solution too the 2 games problem?

The idea that the default client can in any way compare to custom clients is a joke to begin with

Does the default client even have a drink from all containers button? how u gonna run without a drink button? Nvm terrain elevation, theres a ton of other features default client is missing thats why basically nobody uses it. If you still on default you gonna get ganked before you ever even get to a mountain.

Does default client even show other people on minimap? Playing with default client is like competing in a biathlon event without a skis and gun. This issue has to be adressed eons ago.

Default client doesn't even have a way to agro players and switch targets other than manually using the attack action and clicking on enemies, which requires pixel-perfect clicks on people running at speed 3. Meanwhile custom clients have a hotkey to agro all non-green and non-party players, a hotkey to cycle through targets, a hotkey to target the closest enemy, and selection of the closest GOB to the cursor in the event that one needs to use the attack action. Just the process of agroing and targeting the desired player is such ass on default client; nevermind everything else.

Drink:

On the Default Client there are 10 hotbars.
Choose 1-2 or more, assign your waterskins, press those buttons.

Players Icon:

Default Client shows players Icon and there is even a nice Custom Sound Notification System in place.

Targetting:

Default client has the manual Targetting "T", cycle through targets "CTRL+TAB" (you can change the keybind), manual targeting on the enemy pictures.


Default Client is improved a lot in the last years, it's way better than it used to be and very decent and usable rn. I'm sure it will keep improving with Time.
Again, ask and help to improve the game, custom clients are not a valid solution as already explained above.

If you have more questions on how to use the Client I'll be glad to answer.
Make friends with the other crabs or try to escape the bucket.

People that don't read tutorials are so screwed in this game, there's no hope for them. The default client exists to filter these people out as quickly as possible, by handicapping them in hilariously strong ways. If they don't get kicked out early they'll have to deal with all of the other obscure bs in this game.

I love custom clients but at the same time some of this s*** needs to be reined in
a lot of cool things were removed from the game cuz of custom clients the game used to have a night and day cycle we're literally got dark at night and it was Pitch Black in caves you needed a torch if you didn't have a custom client

most people use custom clients to turn it off that's why it was removed

I would like to have candles and light sources be useful for other things besides lighting fires again not necessarily in this world but next

yep, nice lighting , and darkness died because of that, thats like egoshooters replaycing all walls with glass cause people wallhack.
its only haven where the wallhackers come too the forums too complain that other people cant wallhack and that makes it unfair.


jokes aside, haven is an weird game, in and outside of the game
