I can agree with that. Cave/cottage/fishing themes were all neat but definitely overbearing.

One thing to really improve the soundscape would be to have more audio sliders than just "in-game event volume" and "Ambient volume" so you could do stuff like reduce/mute cauldron bubbling and quern screech. These glaring SFX cause many people to nuke sound entirely. Some custom clients have a setting specifically to reduce quern volume.

Of course every single SFX shouldn't have its own slider, but there could be ones like:
1: "Mechanical" (loom/spinningwheel/quern.)
2. "Fire related" (crackling, bubbling.)
3. "Animals" (primarily horse hooves cause that gets annoying really easily.)

Ngl, to this day i remember the music of going into a cabin or fishing back in legacy. I don't think any sound in the new haven is nearly as memorable. But ye they were kinda intrusive
