Axes as weapons for variety would be nice too, B12 is the only good combat axe and raven bite sucks ass.

allthough i would love more variety in weapons, i think its important we fix the linear weapon progression first, before we introduce alternatives,
otherwhise we will just end up with one correct and many trap choices for weapons (already have this problem with fyrmans, flint and clay knives tbh)

flint & clay knives are at least useful for stinging pigs on day 1-2, but yeah 1H sword progression doesn't make much sense

not really, since there is obsidian knives, and i think an q 15 obsidian knive is already better than an q 45 clayknive,
there is an period of around 2-3 days, where your clay knive will be better quality whise than your axe, meaning you have to carry an extra tool with your for butchering, but other than that you never have an reason to use them ,

flint knives are absolutely garbage, flintwashes arent an reliable source of quality flint, and if you find quality flint underground, you make axes and other stuff from it, also, they have an wood component, limiting its potential usage to 0
it basically has identical problems to frymans sword,
it gets outscaled in both damage and quality by things that are easyer to produce, find, and replace, is gimped hard by its crafting recipe
and even if your highest quality weapon would be an flint knive, because you found q40 flint on day one, and jorb secretly gifted you an q40 block of wood that you can only use for flintknives, it would be just worse than any other option

I've been saying for a while that the stages of progression need to be spaced out more, it makes very little sense that we can jump from using bronze to steel in next to no time at all. Adding in a Flux item that can only be found on lower levels would help with pushing back the steel process a lot, and making iron items actually worth using would encourage people to actually make them.
