PVPers are just LAZY. They want to quit after 3 weeks and not have to worry about sailing to another continent.

LAZY.

Having multiple starting continents instills a sense of wonder, mystery and whimsy into the early game.

Did you spawn on the same continent as your friends? As your enemies????

EXCITING.

Promote game longevity and do not listen to the naysayers.

We need NO MAIN SPAWNING CONTINENT for W16

How are new players gonna meet up with each other to play together if they spawn on different continents? Alot of players aren't gonna beacon.

You don't want to stop an issue, by creating a bigger issue.

Selecting continents would be a kind of solution, but it's not good enough.

Maybe an option to teleport to new continents for new spawns for the first 24 hours(with a 1h cd), by right clicking ur hearthfire, and selecting change continent. That would be comprehensive enough.
Early world exploit: Put your hearthfire inside a cave, then hold shift to position a claim right in front of a cave. After 8 hours the claim will be unbreakable. Since your hearthfire is inside the cave, you can still get back inside, and leave, but nobody will be able to enter, effectively making you unraidable for the first 3-7 days. Enjoy

I would like to expand on that with the W. Beacon aspect for the first 24 hours to be able to right click you hearthfire and enter the W. beacon code and your hearthfire is transported to that W. Beacon

We do not need this because it has the opposite effect of what you say it would.
Your spawn location will never instill wonder, mystery and whimsy. Exploration does that and exploration is at its best when everybody spawns on one continent because that quite literally frees up all of the other continents. You get to feel like an explorer mapping out virgin lands untouched by any other man. If everybody just spawns all over then you'll never get that feeling because there will already be people all across the map inhabiting every piece of landmass, and even if by some miracle one piece of land evades all of the spawns so what? That's not good enough compared to the alternative which guarantees it and in much larger quantities.

Keep everyone on one continent. If a group wants to decide where they want to settle, they can do it the old-fashioned way by exploring and finding a spot that looks suitable instead of just leaving it up to chance by one guy spawning in and beaconing everyone. That and you don't want people (particularly new people who may be coming due to the whole steam release) getting the impression that the game is dead, having them spawn on the same continent as everybody else ensures that they're going to see that the game has plenty of life.

The real answer for how the world should be is like this -
Massive central continent where everybody spawns surrounded by many many large continents (and I do need to emphasize the many part), enough so that even halfway through the worlds existence you can still potentially find some islands that are relatively empty.

One thing is for certain. World 16 MUST be significantly larger than W15. W15 had the right idea in terms of its geology and spawn system but it was too cramped and too small. Make it vaster, give people room to breathe and it'll be perfect.

No MMO is fun enough to play on your own.

^ My honest reaction last world without a central spawn. Most people joining through steam are not going to leave a positive review after not seeing another human during an MMO's launch for effectively 15 hours of gameplay.

would be nice to know the dev plans (ridiculous, I know) at least on the world size.

definitely true, the larger the better. we can host boat racing competitions for circling the map! the option of getting spawn choices; 1) the big continent 2) island outliers also seems at least interesting - needs to be said the these ought to be described in game, as in 1) guarantees lots of player interaction of any kind, while 2) is more of a hermit's choice. might be even called a decent compromise between the interests of sprucecaps and faction gits.
