I'd usually agree on the "fuck snail" part, but on this, as long as biomes borders contrast is kept and only pavement is impacted, I think that it'd look very good and have everyone enjoy the pixel-kids arts.
Must say that my opinion is biased, I love pixel art, and yes those borders are kind of ruining the fun ^^'

Maybe we can come to a deal : let's all team-up against snail and fuck him and friends. While still working on a nice-looking map.
