The playerbase already is predominantly solo players anyway.

I personally do not have a problem with private servers, PVE only servers etc

I honestly do not think though that J&L will do it though

Nobody said anything about private servers?

I'd play an ironman server with these rules though for fun. I actually hope they do "event" servers every couple of months with weird rule sets to drive engagement, this sort of thing would be great.

-Personal Claims can only be entered by the owner.
-One Claim per character.
-No villages.

-ALL items and workstations remember their original owner and can only be used by that character.

-You need to refill your Claim Pole with actual Learning Points to keep it active (no more Presence).
-Claim upkeep also increases based on what's inside the claimed area.
-Both base- and character progression require Learning Points now, making it relatively pointless to bot on a large-scale with your one character.

-Anything on unclaimed ground immediately decays. (except maybe some early game structures, Mine Supports and boats)
-You can transfer ownership of a (stolen) item in some way but it should be expensive.

Thx for reading. Bye.

from the OP, it kinda sounds like he is lookin for private server. I dunno how you read it, but that's how i read it.

Yeah fair interpretation if you're unfamilliar with the play on "Ironman" he did with "Ironhermit"

What OP is suggesting is a server that is exclusively solo players. Group players are not allowed, which is driven by the complete removal of villagers, only one claim per character and personal claims can only be entered by the owner (unless using criminal acts I guess)

items remembering owner is a bit much since the claim already restricts you massively anyway but workstations is a nice touch.

honestly solid idea for an event server if numbers picked up enough or in 6-7 months time when main server starts dwindling in numbers. Big fan of the idea of event servers or drastically different rulesets on alternative servers to drive player engagement while leaving the "perpetual/main" world alone.
