You're biased and try to bias everyone else here.
Pvp is not the reason this game has low online, otherwise - I welcome you to join this world after 3-4 month of the world, you will hardly see any pvp or fraction players still playing.

PvP is not the problem of the game, yes. Yet we can't dance around a fact:

This game has an abysmally bad new player experience, I think there are many who want to love this game, and are okay with PvP, yet experiencing some ridiculously toxic things for 0 reason, 0 gain, causing progression loss at that, just for the sake of grief and harassment.

If you think that there's nothing wrong and the way the game is towards someone new checking in to play is the way it should be, then I'll disagree with you to oblivion. The game needs to provide a better experience to new players, not an outright like my friend, starts playing after 7h gets knocked down and drowned so he couldn't recover his body at that, I can't blame him for quitting the game after that...

Isn't it good that he discovered game isn't meant for him in first 7 hours? Also like Fostik already said, if you wanna play PvE survival simulator just come after 3-4 months after world start and nobody will touch you and your carrots.

It's still 7 hours of time spent for absolutely nothing. You think telling someone "see now you learnt a lesson!" is going to make up for the awful experience he got on the first day of playing the game? Let's be real here, that's a big nope.

I think the game should put more priority on letting a new player setting its foot on the game.

I did read reviews a bunch and I can tell the majority is indeed players who were trying to get their base in, got stolen from frequently and their progress reset, especially the drying/tanning part and they just gave up. I think this is 100000% something that can vastly change the experience someone new gets on this game, the only move towards that direction was the Leanto item, but it doesn't help towards the ~3 days that it takes to get to leather where you can get that progress reset at any point.

I have never once joined a pvp sandbox game, die to pvp and then cry about pvp on forum, its very weird that its so common in this game

the normal reaction is to just figure out what your mistake was, Im guessing you didnt even try to run or teleport and now youre angry because you stood there like a potato

only part I agree with you is that you have no protection before palisade and have to rely on the stars aligning to get away with producing the leather for it

Ah man, if only the devs and players had a discussion about this prior to world start. Perhaps we could have had real implementations to resolve these issues instead of expecting every new player to live in a cave with a claim stake in front of the entrance.

Darn it.

Exactly this, the experienced ones blocking cave entrances.

The new ones, getting stolen from and getting their progress reset (the 3d grind to leather) trying desperately to hide tanning tubs and such....

I think all of this would be solved if the game introduced a new player item that's a sort of one-time placement burrow that lasts for X days where they can develop towards leather and get an actual claim with walls up, then experience the game as normal, as intended. It's not a big ask... Is it?

you can also just bought the leather at this point or someone to give u it

but if not willing to learn pvp I wouldnt recommend playing its a pvp game, either learn how to play up like kaois or 1 of the many perpetual whiner who cant leave walls only with alts

Try not to let salt and childishness get in the way of valid criticism please. You first need to have walls to be able to hide within them.

I didn't read any of this, but it seems that this game just isn't for you. Why don't you go and play some Palia or Wurm? If you die, you inherit and go on instead of cryin and shiddin on forums.
