A longer winter would be welcome. Exploring and questing are so much easier when you can gallop across lakes, ride down rivers, etc. (and apparently adders hibernate). And as it is, why bother with a kicksled or skis, you only get a couple of days to use them before the spring thaw.
the thing is. they have to last at least longer than winter+spring. otherwhise farmers , and especially treefarmers get fucked intoo oblivion,
for instance, last world i set up my mounbeds, at mid autumn and planted some trees at the end of it.
mounbed decayed in mid spring, and i had an entire generation of trees that matured, intoo "winter mode" with no leavs& fruits.
building another mounbed had no effect on the trees, and some of them took so long to regain their fruits, through rng decay hits. i had raised another generation and gotten the seeds back , before i could replant my topQ and cut them down.
everytime you and your village can be potentially set back by over an week of progress cause you didnt convert a timer correctly that you had to search for on the wiki, and is variable, thats a bad noobtrap.
