i have allways been an advocate for winter ever since it got some content.
but i litterally dont understand the "remove moundbed" faction .

people playing farmers want to farm, okay, and some people have chosen playstyles that hinge on some farming aspect running.

but the whole "fuck farming compleatly " thing about winter is litterally the only thing that i see as truly problematic.
especially because autumn already slows it down, and it takes quite some time in spring, for things to actually tick over,

but once mounbeds where in, and there isnt , a part of the playerbase who have litterally 0 gameplay for the season, i dont see why it wasnt prolonged, cause currently. if you like winter. you got , like 8 hours, on the second day of Christmas , while you are eating with your family where rivers are actually frozen over.

Mound beds are fine, they just last too long; build one at the first sign of winter and it's still there when summer starts. OTOH, a mound bed placed by water keeps a large area clear for fishing.

A longer winter would be welcome. Exploring and questing are so much easier when you can gallop across lakes, ride down rivers, etc. (and apparently adders hibernate). And as it is, why bother with a kicksled or skis, you only get a couple of days to use them before the spring thaw.

the thing is. they have to last at least longer than winter+spring. otherwhise farmers , and especially treefarmers get fucked intoo oblivion,

for instance, last world i set up my mounbeds, at mid autumn and planted some trees at the end of it.
mounbed decayed in mid spring, and i had an entire generation of trees that matured, intoo "winter mode" with no leavs& fruits.
building another mounbed had no effect on the trees, and some of them took so long to regain their fruits, through rng decay hits. i had raised another generation and gotten the seeds back , before i could replant my topQ and cut them down.

everytime you and your village can be potentially set back by over an week of progress cause you didnt convert a timer correctly that you had to search for on the wiki, and is variable, thats a bad noobtrap.

Eh, I would just rather make mound beds stay.
Make regional north, middle and south poles.

rotate so that winter effects north, and south poles only and the equator never have winter.
Make the world bigger; make animal packs spawn in the poles more. shit like that.

Gardening needs more simple ways for "basic gardening" since spamming garden pots are just basically the new pepper for bots.
Mound beds should be the basic; and a hearth magic should should have some way to keep the town from being snowed in during the winter.

but chaning mound beds...nah I'm good troll mushrooms don't need to be planted in those.
WARNING! MY ENGISH SUCKS.

Since this thread is already full of the dreaded "cacophony" I will throw out some compromise options:

1. Greatly reduce material cost of Mound Beds
2. Allow repairing/recharging Mound Beds with Mulch

(Forever lasting Mound Beds aren't an unreasonable idea, maybe they could get consumed if used for planting things?)
Haven and Hearth Wiki (Maintained by volunteers - test/verify when practical. Forum thread

That said, I might hate it marginally less if fixing the farms were a one time thing instead of a monthly occurrence.

would be a nice perf for gardener credo.
