Come, come now. Every person wants to affect the world around them. This is the only way they know of of affecting outside world from their mom's basement.

Don't call them bad words. Pity them.
I hate you! Yes, you!
How does it matter when you die? Today? In hundred years? What will be left of you after millennia?

As much as I like the idea, hopefully the outcome won't be like wounds stacking up to 1000 hp damage, but you only have total of 200 hp, so player is stuck in constant healing and wound treating phase. Which might be okay as long all woulds can be treated and if for some reasons the abusers know where your hearth fire is, let us when KOed either stay when knocked out, travel back to hearth fire or add new one spawn at random location with a new hearth fire, to avoide the constant abuse.

Letting players explicitly choose to get Wilderness Spawned (with some sensible restrictions, like not being an outlaw) sounds like a good idea to me. Currently you can do this by breaking your own HF and logging out in a spot that doesn't let you log back in.

Great idea!
Status effects that makes you unable to do basically anything until you heal them.
So basically change moderate stat loss into being forced not to play the game for extended periods of time while your wounds heal.
People will surely get more likely to quit the game after that. That is what we are going for right?

What is it than? other than stat loss with some numen bs tedium attached?
People tend to blow it out of proportion for some reason. The thing is most people either quit right away after death or recover in fraction of the time they spent developing that character at first. Sure, it's annoying but it's not actually that bad.
Happened to me few times, I moved on, recovered and got better at avoiding it.
I'm pretty sure that if not for the obscure and tedious mechanics you need to engage after, there wouldn't be that many people quitting or crying over it.

I think we agree that the stat loss is whatever.

Death means you have to get all the thingwalls again
Death means you have to get all discoveries again
Death means you have to get all combat moves again
Death means you lose your credo progress
Death means you lose your kin list

I love the wound system as a punishment, in stead of the unfun death mechanic we have right now.
If it doesn't feel great we can always just remember it as a bad idea.
This suggestion is for a short world.
Lets be brave and try out something new.

Honestly all these maybe except credo progress (because fuck you, if you die to a troll doing cave hermit that's intended, the only well designed credo) should be granted by default without all the numen bullshit on inheritance.

You don't actually lose the things you listed. The only thing you don't recover with the numen bs is credo progress. Oh and you only partially recover your kin list.

This is exactly what I'm talking about. Make it simple, remove it from numens and just grant those things right away.
