Hypothetically if I join as a new character on w16 and encounter a player that has 1k+ stats and has been playing a year+ at this point am I ever going to get to punch at all? The current dynamic is unrealistic. If you fall behind whatsoever you're fucked.

EVE absolutely has optional PVE areas. People live their entire lives in high sec and never once venture into null, it's a completely option part of the game if you're not interested in experiencing it. There's so many "instanced" PvE situations they've added you're either not an active player or you're just not aware of them.

Foxhole is a third person wargame, inherently PVP; Not a survival simulator with PVP elements.

Deep world is already PvE, barely anyone plays that and you can actually increase quality.
This is the point I'm making.

w16 persisted for several months with several hundred players after the activity period ended. Few, if any, people were doing PVP. These people were all enjoying the PvE aspects of the game.

This can persist indefinitely. It already is, if you are to believe the 60 player count that remain persistent into the new world.

The game can be absolutely designed to minimize or prevent griefing.
Pvp as it implemented now is not a way to stop griefing anyway because people who do the griefing are pvpers and people getting griefed are 90% of playerbase who cant fight back.

I wouldnt call albion a successful mmo. Also he is absolutely right, all pvp focused mmo's die in shit & piss while pve focused ones are far less likely to fail. New world failed. Ashes of creation will fail.

Ripping quality grind and PvP out of haven gives you something approaching a tech demo at that point.
Exactly this. Give us this. Nobody suffers in doing so expect for losers that want PvP targets, but if you believe that there's a skill differential and it's not all botting than you should be able to find PVP with the other factions on the free to play PVP world and this should be a non-issue with you.
