I get that, but something definitely needs to be done here, as it wasn't a single time I had to, or overheard someone else, try to explain where to download this java thing to launch the game. I'd assume that without help from a friend, most newcomers would simply give up.

What the hell even is this response lol. You can pretend all you want that steam is some sort of weird "digital ghetto" but at the end of the day its 1000 times better then whatever click that play button is. until you come up with your own game launcher that installs deps in 1 click you can't have this opinion honestly.

I am all for people having their principles but yeah, can't really be hating on steam here bro when your website and forum and "install" is in the darkages.

You have to admit that on a technical/design level phpBB is far superior to the Steam forums.

... hold my beer.

Agree that we should deploy a direct, platform specific, launcher, tho, much like we do on steam.

... bc the separate dependency install is, indeed, a bit dated.

Building Developer opens unfinished and arguably dated building in neighbourhood, forgets about it almost entirely, accuses neighbourhood of being a ghetto

Hafen is not on steam, it's steam that is on Hafen.

And he's not wrong, as those are two, indeed, entirely separate issues. :)
