yea there are a few things i think should stay faster. wound heal speed should stay at this faster speed, especially SHP regen speed. i could do without waiting 4 days for leather.

when it comes to claims, i would be alright with them taking a long time to dry if you and anyone you've given FULL perms to were allowed to aggro trespassers and KO them without it being crime even while the claim is still drying (but only once the claim has been up for say 1 hour already). there's nothing wrong with having to have the balls to protect your home imo.

but, since it's meant to be experimental, i'm not gonna cry if they blanket slow everything. certain stuff like mine pyres has me excited personally to be slowed because i like the gated early game where you KNOW everyone has these same pieces of equipment/weaponry.

EDIT:

hard skill issue. there are plenty of active things like hunting, scouting and building you can be doing in between processes finishing and curios popping. a slower world only gives hermits/small groups more time to build large passive infrastructures like tons of drying racks or tarkilns, and then more time in between to do active tasks.

the problem for me this world is since everything was happening so fast, it felt like no matter what i did i was wasting time and falling behind. building my palisade? wtf are you doing bro, you need to be scouting for copper. scouting for copper? wtf man you're wasting time you need to be gathering wildcrops! gathering wildcrops? wtf dude you need to be taming animals-WAIT your study desk is empty you need to refill it!

I had this random thought "what if curiosities took 2x the time, but gave 3x the LP" but I dunno if it would make any sense.

(The main benefit, at least on the individual level, would be that people would need to spend less time crafting curiosities, since they are consumed slower - but still gain more LP than they would with the "normal" game rules.)

(Curio Meta could shift into stuff that's currently too fast to feasibly maintain a constant supply of.)

that's not a bad idea per se, but for me the point of the slow world is everyone is progressing slower in every way, including say melee/unarmed.

it's not foolish though to imagine that the experiment could be everything EXCEPT character development is slowed. (in which case that idea is great because that A lets your character grow at normal rate but also B means you need less curios thus complimenting the slow world's affinity for needing less passive work done.)

Yes, that's a familiar situation; I literally wrote about it in the third post.
But for me, the speed of the normal world was enough to do the necessary things, take a walk, and build a proper base. I also had a bit of free time left over—that's why I said I'm for the normal world, but a slightly sped-up one would also work.
If the world were slower than normal, by the same amount as the current speed, there might be too much free time.
Now you don't have time to do a lot because everything is done quickly, but in slow motion it would be the same, but because the necessary things would take a long time.

How is that possible? Can you give an example?

sorry but that's just completely wrong.

maybe you're just used to playing in larger villages, but when it comes to people like me who play either alone or with 1 or MAYBE 2 other people, there is always something to do actively while you wait for your passive things to pop. you legitimately CANNOT have too much animal product, there will always be extra kilns or smelters or something to build, you can find new ore veins, you can hitch a couple more animals, you can fish or forage or just explore. and on top of all that, any actual pointless freetime can be spent just making a shitton of food and inflating your attributes. you could even get your farming or crafting alt going.

if you're also a hermit, then you just aren't good enough at the game to be making these suggestions.

if the world was 0.66x speed, curios would take 50% more time (1 hour goes to 1 hour 30 minutes) for the same amount of LP. in this case, LP gain should be increased by the same amount (1000 becomes 1500 LP) which would mean your character is developing at normal world speed but requiring less curios.

i don't really understand how that wasnt obvious, but there you go.

I understand that.
serVar161 wrote:Yes, the accelerated world has its advantages and disadvantages. On the one hand, thanks to accelerated processes, you can quickly close the gap with other players. You don't have to wait long.
But at the same time, you often find yourself in a Groundhog Day cycle—a necessary routine. By the time you finish it, you have to start all over again.
This reduces the enjoyment of the game.

But if you make it too slow, the result will be the same. Players will leave because they have to wait too long—"I'll do it faster in real life and get the real result than in the game." Generalists or hermits will find something to do, but the "specialists" will suffer. And this won't affect the speed of the game. They'll simply build more production facilities, and due to the number of them, only the first batch will have to wait a long time, while the rest will load at the speed they were supposed to.

I think the normal speed is ideal in this regard. Not too fast and not too slow.
Although I would be happy with a middle ground between the accelerated world and the normal one.
But the slow world—Haven is already a pretty time-consuming game.

And as I wrote, if there's a slow-motion world, I'll find something to do. It's just that I think the balance will shift from one extreme to the other. From a lack of time to a large amount of free time. In a fast-paced world, it's good for those who play in large groups and don't have to juggle everything, while in a slow-motion world, it's better for hermits, and large groups will die of boredom. But that's just my guess.

if a massive group runs out of things to do that just means they min-maxed the fun out of the game, which is their own fault and not something we should need to balance around or cater to.
