cannot disagree with this slim headed guinea pig
There was a wise soviet conscript that was surrounded by the enemy on the battle of Stalingrad. A mortar shot teared his pants apart causing a big hole in his pants right on his right butt cheek. He felt a glorious cold ass breeze of wind on his butt cheek, like it would be sent by stalin himself, he said - hide your butts

Ok, cute, but what changed to remove it, then?

The combat and siege systems. :)

Siege is now a convoluted mess and combat is now boring and gimmicky gankwars in any form.

And how was it before?

What made combat fun before where now it isn't?

Was siege more of a thing before than it is now?

I know you don't want to hear from me with regard to the combat system and I'm not a pvp player (in this game, though I pvp, successfully I might add, in some other games) but I'm going to have my say anyway ...

Legacy combat was dreadful, I never understood it enough to be able to use it and I'm certainly not the only one, in comparison the new system is simple to understand and for me it is fun simply because I can now use it, enjoy killing the wildlife and understand what I am doing. I now have enough of a grasp of it to teach other non pvp players how to use it and I would hate to have to go back to killing everything with a sling, esp now aiming doesn't work as well as it did in legacy.

From talking to the pvp players their main complaint seems to be it is useless in pvp situations and fine for killing the wildlife but ofc they would have to go into more detail with that side of it. For me, I am only just starting to spar and with players who have more moves open than I currently do so it's hard for me to give much of an opinion on it other than I'm enjoying sparring for the first time ever!

Whatever changes you decide to make pls, pls don't revert back to the legacy system and also remember that they all complained about that too at the time.

Combat system before was epic, was the thing that keep me playing. Even thought the defense penetrating while moving was removed, it still was outstanding. There are guys who couldn't understand it, but there's more that did and they're missing it (imma right bois?) and don't feel like this new system is any better. Before, you had to work hard, not just grab 1-2 dudes with you and spam sting or smth... It was more balanced, more rewarding, more fun. Fights were much bigger, like 8vs8 was normal. It was more tactic oriented, more ... geez i miss it.

Ah, the fabled nostalgia goggles.
8v8 was normal? Are you retarded? Those happened very, very rarely and when they did it was mostly chasing, drinking 10 buckets of water and shoving sausages down your throat.
In fact, all of the fights that happened were just chasing. You either had to abuse the summoning system to catch up, or the enemy had to clip on a tree which is easy to avoid. The winner is the one who has more water. Fun fun fun
I'm not a big fan of the combat right now because the deck system makes no sense - people will just use the most optimal combination of 5 cards, but right now it seems so much more possible to catch up to a runner, etc.
