Counterpoint to the OP: I play H&H until I get bored (currently months into the bored stage), and come back at the opening of every world. If there wasn't a new world, I'd never come back.

I know I may not be the best insightful person when it comes to game mechanics due to only having a very limited amount of it. However, I will approach this from a logical perspective rather than a mechanical perspective. The reason why it becomes so stale in the end game is because of stagnation. In order for change to happen, humans must deal with problems greater than they are, and I believe there is one force that man cannot truly overcome completely: nature.
The vast majority of communication with others are not just words; it is also diction, body motion, and many other factors. Even doing nothing is communication in itself. The moment your eyes meet someone, you have initiated contact. In essential, it is a constant non-stop flow between two or more entities.

Thing is what people want to keep it less stale seems to be the one thing that takes people out of the game it seems. The random killing for shear lols is very rampet at the start of the world. But we need something to bring some of those people back after they diied, yes some have started to comeback after the past few updates, now its getting more people into the game.

I have been playing since world 2 non-stop from the beginning to the end of each world with no breaks. I can tell you that if they start world and say there will be no end to it I probably wont play. Usually at around this point in a world I have become decently strong and I go into maintenance mode where I just have a series of chores me and my villagemates who I play with do... we are each reliable so everything chugs along without too much time investment... by this point we have already spiraled/made our bone clay kilns as high as we wanted and made the best gear we could. We don't enjoy killing strangers so if no one is attacking us we just putter along.

but with endless progression and removal of the stat caps I don't really see much point in continuing trying to compete. a few worlds ago we could actually mostly keep up with the botters but botting has become so refined now and jorb/loftar plan to do nothing about it.

Exploring is only fun when there is resources to find and that is only possible in the first few months. people want a fresh start to try to do better then last world or try out being a miner instead of a farmer etc etc. Each world start has been fun and is always full of unique experiences. Jorb and loftar have added a lot of gameplay tailored to early game, there are no end game experiences that I can think of that are worth playing towards at this point.

Also if you think people would come back/stay if the world was permanent you are totally wrong. They will not. Server pop will always just continue to drop because there becomes less and less unique experiences to discover. When your a hermit with 500 melee and 500 unarmed and you are not a faggot who kills random newbies what do you have to look forward to each day when you login? Making curios and food to get even stronger. That's it, how fun.

This is not a game that can be persistent... and I know loftar wants it to be persistent but if he wants it that way then they need to remove the quality system and redsign the game mechanics from scratch. The regular folk who are not botting retards enjoy world resets so they can play on par with everyone else for a few months and have equal opportunity to claims nice resources and setup their bases.

Honestly as community we should just keep bitching until they reset it, every single time it gets to this point. I personally think it's a no-brainer and don't feel like writing a huge argument to support it, because it would be the biggest essay I've ever written. That's how many reasons come to mind for resetting it

Fuck this world. Reset

What is the point to post if you are not going to reason it? The tests have shown that the devs do not listen to anyone unless they provide some arguments and explanations.

They haven't provided any real arguments against resetting either. Even if their vision is to have a permanent world eventually, the current game/world is nowhere close to being able to support it in a satisfying way, and most players agree on that. They will eventually listen if everyone is posting about it non-stop and refusing to play. I'm just casting my vote and urging others to do the same. If the devs still refuse, it's everyone's loss including them
