Late game crafting thoughts along with pay-for-cosmetic items.

The problem with the game is that there is not really anything to do after you'd built everything, killed every beast and mined every ore, craft every object and so on. I think there should be a BIG overhaul on the late game crafting (armor and weapons). You should implement armor and weapon sets, with a distinct look, that provide some set bonuses when equipped (It's nothing new, I stole the idea from Diablo 2 but it could work perfectly in this game).

Have something like

TIER1 - Crafts using basic resourses Iron/copper/wood, leather), have some tier 1 sets that provide a small boost in a skill relevand to your role - hunter/fighter/crafter/farmer/merchant/etc

TIER2 - Crafts using advance materials - Steel/Hard Leather/etc. Have the TIER 2 sets look cool and proide a moderate boost in stats

TIER3 - Crafts using some rare stuff - gold and fated stuff, also maybe some insanely rare drops from beasts or from fishing or whatever, quest rewards, etc. Give the TIER3 an elite look, and have the sets offer a significant bonus in stats.

Make it so that you can pay a custom look (purely cosmetic) for each TIER above.

Also mounts - let us ride stuff in the game and have paid cosmetic mounts. Armor and custom colours for horses and mounts

Let's not go overboard, though. There's a vast and unbridgeable gulf between any of these suggestions and paying an arbitrary amount for a proportional amount of instant LP, as the latter eliminates the need to play, whereas the former simply gives you more output for the same kind of grind.

Also, perhaps more importantly, the current system is arguably even worse in that respect. There's no way a free or verified player can seriously compete with a subbed account.

So far I don't feel that much behind for a verified player and I was part of a small village, not a huge faction.

Comparing with casuals, people that died towards the end of the world (past the half point anyway), and one guy that said he quit in december and has you blatantly beat?

I would also assume most major factions wouldn't even go for 1 titan, but rather lots of utility chars that require limited effort to pump out. Now if we were to add up how many combat alts the average DiS player has, i'm curious how that would compare to your chars. Ultimately the point can be made that if you'd played more than 14 hours per week in the same style you'd have outdone yourself so hard.

Yes exactly, I have no information about that one guy, but I doubt he was part of a small village and was as "new" as me to the game. He might also have had bots and/or a big village/faction to help him out. What you call casuals are probably players who had a situation comparable to mine.

I'll get more than 14h a week next world, fine I'll progress quicker, plus I know the game better now. What will happen? I'll just hit the cap quicker.

Same system proposed by devs but:

Once 200 cap is reached only verified accounts have 14 hours a week to play and subs have the time payed for.

Fits in with my suggestion of "extras" on sub accounts. Although not this specifically.

So free accounts once they hit the cap are done playing for good?

Not free accounts, chars who have reached 200. Rest of the chars of the account can still be playable.
Anyway, devs should stop the subs while these 2 weeks happen. Otherwise i feel like my money has been wasted because these 2 weeks doesnt make any sense for me.
