Thanks that’s really the point I was making I dunno why these dudes get so bent out of shape over discussing a topic. It’s a forum, you make posts, the post count goes up. It is not a complicated process to understand not everyone is here just to lurk.

Logical people support their arguments with science and facts, politicians use targeted polls. MooCow answered better than I could though.

Nothing wrong with doing this but to just hand over cross-continent travel because some players say travel is hard is not even likely to change anything. Those few players with a high enough Will attribute will be porting across the world and most other players remain unaffected by such a change unless they are already within somewhat close vicinity to the place they want to port. They just don't want to leave their walls to have to travel to it.

Do you mean these? They aren't close enough and I cant drive my boat/knarr filled with gold bars across land. Unless there are 2 more right next to it which I don't know about. Then you are right and there is no bias.

Adding a system of fast travel, whatever it may be, isn't about enabling the big boys or keeping people safe. It is about increasing player-player interaction. Ultimately, an ideal system of fast travel doesn't keep people safe or help factions significantly more than noobs. Roads before travel weariness actually did a pretty good job of this.

I think a lot of people, myself included, simply looked at the loss of player-wilderness interaction and concluded that fast travel is intrinsically bad.
Traveling quickly doesn't reduce the amount of time people play the game, it just reduces the amount of time traveling.

I would love to be able to just build my base next to CF, or make a living trading for profit, but that isn't the current reality of this game.

CF is planning to build charter stones by the vortexes so people with enough will can use them to port straight to the market. That should solve your problem, I think.
