Being funneled towards a relatively small space, through obvious ocean routes people know they will be with the 50 crates of puffballs they spent the last week gathering to buy that shiny new axe.
Doesn't seem to be an issue for people in EVE. You're saying the average Jita trader is more hard core than the average haven player? No surprise there*. In fact, almost everything you've been arguing the last few pages are a non-issue. You don't need to be at every fight. The fact that people are stretching their group so thin that they have to travel two hours to get to a fight is massively overconfident. If the game was more populated, you wouldn't even try to do this because it would be a guaranteed loss of all your people ranging out that far away. I think you're trying to argue for a problem that doesn't actually exist other than the personal desire to be able to run around anywhere you want. Maybe the better argument is that "the world is too large and spread out." A world with less water content, thus not as spread out, and still able to add ocean features and such would be greater at providing fun content
*I'm trying to be jestful here, but in a way, I'm kind of serious. There's a large portion of players in EVE that won't cross those borders because of the number of ganks going on during any given day. And people lose months of work--work that can only be described as "hundreds of man hours"--in those ganks. Groups lose thousands (or more) of man hours. Some quit, some soldier on.
