Fast travel is clearly a huge game improvement based on the poll, even without the poll it is pretty clear and will only make the game more fun, there are clearly more people in the community that want to play the multiplayer game instead of a single player!

This thread is really something special.

I am pretty convinced nobody even knows what anybody's viewpoint actually is, and we have just gotten to the point where people are yelling at each other for the fun of it. I am going to try to bring this back on track, but I worry loleznub is probably right.

People against fast travel improvements, please refute the following points.
  1. Fast travel increases player-player interaction
  2. This world needs more player-player interaction

People pro crossroads, please refute the following points
  1. Stat requirements for traveling caters to the people that have high stats
  2. People with low stats add to the game, and their participation is desirable
  3. If fast travel is mandatory for fun trade, people with low stats should be allowed to travel so they can have fun too

The food changes are what hurt here, not the stat requirement. It wasn't hard last World for your average hermit to raise a charisma alt that was capable of porting to CF from across the world, just required some cooking or some cheese crafting. Assuming the formula hasn't changed, it would in fact be difficult now for your average player to stack enough will to port in a meaningful fashion, but I think that just means for this to work the will requirements would need to be looked at to account for the drastic fep stat step change. I don't by any stretch think that fast travel should be a titan only activity.

It was never about me being right or wrong, but moreso to help make the game more tolerable and less time-wasting.

People against fast travel improvements, please refute the following points.
  1. Fast travel increases player-player interaction
I cannot refute this because crossroads, in essence, reduces time investment (long-term) needed to see your friends and enemies. Creating roads and destroying them all offer player to player interaction.
  2. This world needs more player-player interaction
Absolutely. People are what makes this game interesting and fun. If you don't agree, then I suggest going to play a single player game where perma-death isn't a large part of the game.

People pro crossroads, please refute the following points
  1. Stat requirements for traveling caters to the people that have high stats
Historically speaking, the stat requirements for traveling across the map have been laughably low. Plus they were tied to Charisma. You could literally make an alt, a shitty charisma set, and eat nothing but beetroots or Sweet Beets and then be good to go. The traveling requirements currently are stupid, and I think they should be lowered. Moving 5 minimaps costs 25% travel weariness? Stupid.
  2. People with low stats add to the game, and their participation is desirable
    Yes.
  3. If fast travel is mandatory for fun trade, people with low stats should be allowed to travel so they can have fun too
    Yes.

The problem with the current system is that in order to make crossroads any type of worthwhile, you need to have 500+ Will. Ardennesss hit the nail right on the head here.

Moving 5 minimaps costs 25% travel weariness?

Except that it doesn't when the road is paved, and it even doesn't when it's not. Or do you test with a fresh spawn that has a concussion?

It's sad that the proponents don't burden themself with arguing with facts but resort to make up an endless stream of bullshit. But when that is so effective that a sexists asshole moron can get elected president by doubling down on that dishonest strategy... it's good enough for others to try to push other nonsense too.

How about the fact that the most of the people are here to play multiplayer instead of singleplayer?

Why de-allcap my title?

I'm using a lower stat character because thats what most sprucecaps like yourself use. If I used one of my regular characters, it would be an entirely different story. But most players don't get past 50 attributes. If you fail to see how I was advocating for noobs instead of people like me, then you're simply incapable of thinking more than one step ahead.

Because most mods, for some reason, have to flex their e-peen. It's the only way to make them feel good about themselves. Haven't you seen what most of them post all the time? It's like they're drunk on power and think having a unique color for their name gives them in-game knowledge . Talk about a sense of entitlement

This is a reasonable approach along with this fix.

Crossroads on the other hand are from a different era of haven and have no place in the current world.
