This would be worse than death for an established player, especially one who is located a considerable ways from spawn. -1. I agree there needs to be something in place to stop the throwaway alts, but that's a step too far in the wrong direction.
Not really. It is worse that death for a noob, since it will take longer to get back to where you were than it would take to make a new character. But for an established player the hours spent finding the way back home are trivial in comparison to the effort needed to get a new character back to the same stats you had.
