You'd think. I have a spot with 14 new trees on it and only 3 tiles of grass. I've noticed sometimes that to get the grass to spread you have to stomp to dirt or plow a tile to force it to update. So, I don't think grass itself is entirely attached to decay. (Although now that I think about it, that might just be because it never gets unloaded so it needs something to force the tile map to update)

id be for giving it a cost. since trees grow faster naturally in a matching biome, if we were to speed up this process, there should be some cost involved.... maybe a way to transplant biomes? use something like a wheelbarrow to haul a tile of <insert terain name here> to some other location?

barring that, give it a price that we can attach gold quillls to.

Torn on this. Agree that it should probably be possible to promote the spread, but I also like that the natural terrains can't be arbitrarily transplanted any-old-where.
