If they allow terraforming of rivers and streams, I would say this is a good rule of thumb: if, from one side of the deep to the other, it is wider than two wagons, it is too wide to make shallow.

If it's so wide and deep that your wagon could get completely submerged in trying to cross from one bank to the other (before terraforming), why not just put it on a raft instead? Or...

From my days of playing "Oregon Trail":

To caulk the wagon means to seal it with pitch or tar so that no water can get in.

We have pitch. We have wagons. I presume cows and horses can swim. Why not make wagons able to float if you coat the underside with pitch?

How about we give cows and horses water ski equipment and you have to kick them in the butt really hard to make them slide over the river.

I don't care if they give wagons hearth magic powered rockets as long as you can cross rivers with them.

In the areas I have visited there were enough shallow crossings to reach every relevant land mass, you would have to take a detour but you could reach nearly everything without swimming.

So I would like to have carts and wagons being able to cross shallow water, limit them to crawl speed while on shallow tiles to not overpower them.

While at tuning speeds: walking with lifted full boats should be sped up a bit, the current matrix still scene movement is ridiculous.

Merged the other thread related to it.
While at Oregon Trail: Floating a wagon over deep water should have the chance of losing stuff, and a slightly smaller chance of the whole wagon sinking.

Perhaps.

There was also a very miniscule chance for a ferry sinking. This brings up the question of sinking and what happens to the lost loot and vehicles.

Caulking the wagon should be a thing, if for no other reason than that it was a thing in Oregon Trail, which is an awesome game.

Rivers that actually flow into interesting places would be good too, instead of just running into lake #516, lake #517, lake #518, etc
