you could make it so that dowsing rod pointed toward better (average) quality water point then

Hows about the dowsing rod only locks on one node at once?

Move only 1-2 tiles towards center of the wedge ob every dowse and you'll find a tile where the water table won't raise any further.

2-After plowing and placing stone for 2 more minutes it will, 95% of the time, say - Water runs to deep here.

I am liking this idea. Current well can mess with the layouts of the town. This is ironic to be not well! I think rod can point to highest quality water node where water is no higher than rod quality. Search range increases with rod quality.

why? were all q50 clay, water, soil spots claimed already this map? there's no difference.
