I want to add a toolbelt, and I don't want to monetize it, but it is difficult to implement because of reasons.

'We don't do things because they are easy, we do them because they are hard.'
Must have heard that somewhere...

Im confident that Loftar, who single handed pulled off the coding for this game, is able to make some extra slots appear in the equipment window when you equip such a belt, and have them vanish (and the stuff in them drop) when you take it off - and then add logic to the code that checks for tool equipped so that, in case it won't find a tool but an empty hand, checks the belt slots of it is there...

My guessing is that the equipment window is not well suited for having dynamical slots with current systems.

It is rarely a question for what is possible, but rather for what is worth the cost in time to make it happen.

Most likely it's theoretically as easy as you say, but doing it the easy way would create code that is hard to maintain and/or is likely to cause bugs. Assuming it's a technical reason.

Well as a suggestion as an idea to not make it easy, make it out of hardened leather and a bar(or a few nuggets) of metal. It'll need good sturdy leather to take the weight and the metal for a solid buckle and the loop/hooks for tools/key ring. Making the metal change the look of the buckle, now you're on to making all these other things use the material for colors would also be super cool! I imagine there would be very few gold buckles but somebody would do it I bet given the chance. Though I'm not saying you have to do this. OH LAWD PLZ DU DIZ!

Right, I realized that the other day but apparently forgot it as quickly again. Thanks!
