The point is - in my oppinion - jewelery slots, and to be precise rings, should be reserved for "rare" stuff. I think it is a lot more rewarding to finally fill up a empty slot than upgrade already existing item.

Can't argue with that; but then again, we do have at least several upgrade tiers for most of item slots, even with the current scarce selection of gear. I understand that "having rings" is basically a binary since legacy times, when you are either developed enough to have rings or not. That is the paradigm I was talking about shifting, and I see your arguments now.

@Ysh and Burinn: regarding the value, yes, valid point; but in that sense it's a good thing for game. Makes characters' developement curve more smooth.

from some comments, it seems that proposing something that MAY have an effect on older players is bad, because they MAY loose something... well, this speaks for itself and for many problems of this game ¦]

Just to clarify my position, I do not say this is bad. I just say that it is not without drawback for some player.

And that's good. In fact, for noobs that do not understand how much good could be having even a low ql, higher tier ring, this kind of change could also lead to an increase in demand for those high tiered...it's hard to really find if a change like that could be or not a drawback.

Why not oak rings? Probably just for show. Or as a gilding.

Simple jewelry would be nice.
